Nagaloka, A Major Center of the Buddhist Revival in India

Three days self defence training was organised for Dhammasekhiya girl’s students from 17th to 19th September, 2015 in association with the Prabodhini Mahila Foundation at Nagaloka. Dhammacharini Abhayadana along with her two staffs conducted the training for 48 participants. The aim of the training program was to train female students to defend themselves, and to boost confidence. They were introduced to mental, physical and verbal techniques of self defence which includes use of physical forces, ability to get proper mindset for execution of physical self defence and to prevent or end an attempt assault. Other form of self defense such as avoidance was explained during the training. Issues related with women welfare such as sexuality, domestic violence, rape, sexual harassment were also discussed.

  1. wonderful event. I would like to see more events like this. I’m also a master in teaching Niskin Tai-chi kung fu. I will come there for some time to teach both Tai-chi and Supreme Meditation to our people. Congratulations girls (daughters of Prakirthi).
