Saddhamma Retreat

From 25th April until 2nd May, 2015 a retreat was held for some Nagaloka alumni at Madhyamarg Centre, Kondhanpur, Maharasthra. Lokamitra led the study on ‘Saddhamma’, the two main functions of which Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar says are to clean the mind of its impurities and to make the world a kingdom of righteousness. He makes it clear that Dhamma practice is not just a personal matter, but must express itself in the way we behave with and relate to others, and also have a positive impact on the world around us, especially in terms of breaking down barriers between people and establishing equality – in other words in creating a better society for all. The participants explored in some depth and breadth the implications of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s approach to Saddhamma, looking at subjects such as the Middle Way, Atmavad and Ucchedwad, pratitya samutpada, and many others.
