He has played a leading role in the development of Nagarjuna Institute from the very beginning. From 2002 until 2018, he was the Director of Nagarjuna Institute, and responsible for training hundreds of students. He took early retirement from Government service in order give himself more fully to this work. At present his most important contribution is developing the Ashoka Dhammaduta programme, training Alumni to teach the Dhamma to socially deprived communities all over India.
